Brightview Crofton Riverwalk was designed and constructed using Brightview’s Green Building Design Standards in 2019. More than 50% of the plants throughout the community were installed with native and adapted plants to reduce water needed for irrigation. There are also green roof spaces to reduce stormwater runoff and improve water quality. To reduce light pollution into the environment and create a positive benefit for nocturnal animals, the lighting power and output for this community was designed to limit the amount of light trespassing into the building and the night sky. Other sustainable features include natural daylight and views throughout spaces for outdoor connection, individual climate controls for resident comfort, recycling programs, and educational signage throughout.
