Brightview is pleased to share that Virginia “Ginger” Saunders from Brightview White Marsh has been recognized by Baltimore magazine as an “Excellence in Nursing” Award recipient for 2023. Please join us in congratulating her on this accomplishment!
This honor highlights nurses in the greater Baltimore area who go beyond the call of duty to make a positive difference in the lives of those they serve. Ginger does just that in her day-to-day as a Health Services Director at Brightview White Marsh.
Ginger is best known for being a team player. Since March 2020, she has been on call to support her fellow associates and the residents she cares for daily. Ginger spends as much time as needed with residents’ families – on the phone before and after shifts to connect with them and keep them apprised of their loved one’s health and well-being. She takes an education-first approach to resident care and family relationships – offering a thorough explanation of resident health and wellness updates, ensuring both the resident and their families are in the know.
Brightview is Ginger’s first role in senior nursing – and starting only four years ago, she lived and worked alongside her residents during the pandemic. That experience only made her more passionate and eager to commit to being the best senior living nurse she could be. Also, throughout the pandemic, Ginger realized how important it is to emotionally connect with seniors, making them feel seen and heard with open communication. Ginger regularly assists her residents with Facetime calls with their loved ones – even post-pandemic.
Ginger is the third Brightview nurse to be recognized by Baltimore magazine with this prestigious honor. To learn more about fulfilling nursing opportunities at the 46 different Brightview communities up and down the east coast, visit Brightview Careers.
