Earth Day Network Donation over $3,000
April 22nd was Earth Day, a day where supporters of a sustainable environment hold events bringing awareness to different environmental causes and inform individuals and organizations on how to be environmentally-conscious. In recognition of Earth Day, Brightview Senior Living communities held a philanthropic happy hour for professional partners who service the senior living industry such as healthcare agencies, rehab facilities, financial planners, attorneys, realtors, and many more professionals. We hosted our Earth Day events at local restaurants across several states including Maryland, Virginia, DC, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. For each professional partner attendee, Brightview Senior Living donated $10 to the Earth Day Network, whose “mission is to diversify, educate, and activate the environmental movement worldwide.” With over 387 professional partners in attendance across all participating states, Brightview Senior Living was able to donate over $3,800 to the environmentally conscious organization.
Being environmentally aware is not limited to one day in the year but requires active engagement in trying to make the world a better place. At Brightview communities, residents have access to gardens where they can plant flowers, fruits, and vegetables. In addition, the planting gardens serve as memory stimulation opportunities for our dementia-care residents in Wellspring Village™, a neighborhood within a Brightview community specifically designed for residents with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. From a development perspective, Brightview Senior Living makes conscious decisions to improve the area surrounding Brightview communities.
We would like to thank our professional partners for attending such a successful event throughout our regions. These type of efforts truly impact the broader community.
